Whether you're buying BÉSICS® single use products, durable new products or durable heirloom products, our team has applied a circular economy approach to product sustainability.
First and foremost, we work to avoid conventional plastics in all our products.
BÉSICS® single use items are made from plant based, recyclable/certified compostable materials. Our compostable cups, bowls, plates and cutlery have been tested in compost facilities in Canada and the United States, including windrow, ASP, and tunnel technologies. We looove the science of composting and testing our products, but our sustainability goals don't stop there. We consider the source and renewability of the materials we use, the workplace standards of our suppliers, the safety of our products for your use, and how we can create designs that help everyone direct our products away from landfill, and into composting/recycling avaiable in thier community.

Our durable new products are made from recyclable or up-cyclable materials such as wood, stone, brass, copper, steel. They are designed for disassembly, easy use, cleaning, and storage. At the end of their useful life, multimaterial items can be disassembled for easier recycling and less landfill.
Our durable heirloom and upcycled products preserve value and beauty of products made in another time. Sometimes they're rare, sometimes they're very old. They're always beautiful and ready to grace the home of a new owner.
